2017 Civil Engineering (Chinese-French Joint Degree Program) French Degree Awarding Ceremony Successfully Held


On March 24th, the 2017 Civil Engineering (Chinese-French Joint Degree Program) French Degree Awarding Ceremony was held at the Xiaoheshan Campus. 62 graduates of the 2017 majoring in Civil Engineering from School of Engineering and Construction (Chinese-French Joint Degree Program) successfully completed their studies, and received a French Civil Engineering Bachelor's degree certificate from the University of Cergy-Pontoise of France. François GERMINET, president of University of Cergy-Pontoise, and 7 other staff attended the French Degree Awarding Ceremony. Leaders of the school, leaders of relevant departments and secondary schools, representatives of 2014-2016 Classes of civil engineering Chinese-French Joint Degree Program) students and representatives of the parents of the graduates also attended the ceremony.



Ye Gaoxiang, president of our university and François GERMINET, president of University of Cergy-Pontoise, gave a speech at the ceremony and expressed their congratulations and hopes on the graduates. Xia Ruisi, the education consul of the French consulate in Shanghai, made a special trip to attend the ceremony and delivered a speech. Leaders of the Faculty of Engineering and Construction, co-directors of Chinese-French Joint Degree Program, representatives of graduates, and parents of students also spoke respectively. President Ye Gaoxiang and President François GERMINET jointly issued the certificate for the French degree for the 2017 graduate of Civil Engineering (Chinese-French project) and took a group photo.



Zhejiang University of Science and Technology and University of Cergy-Pontoise, in cooperation with University of Cergy-Pontoise in the undergraduate education program in civil engineering, aims to introduce quality educational resources from abroad. This joint program was formally approved by the Ministry of Education of China in October, 2012, and formally enrolled in September, 2013. This four-year joint training program adopts 4+0 mode. All the courses can be completed at the ZUST. The great efforts made by both universities has gained fruitful results. The double degree awarding rate of first batch of graduates for the program was 83.7%. In 2017, the program pass the evaluation of the Sino-foreign cooperative education program of the Ministry of Education, and the extension application of the program was approved by the Ministry of Education.
